Entrepreneurship, 2 years later
Here we are, 2 years after the launch of KALŪ. And yes, it took us a few days to realize that we should have marked the 2nd anniversary of the opening of our online store. This date, although it does not exactly mark the beginning of the adventure, seems the most significant.
Anyway, here we are, two years later.
It seemed that a small assessment was necessary, in order to share our challenges and our appreciation towards this unique experience that is entrepreneurship.
Here is a Top 5 of the ups and downs since KALŪ’s launch.
5. Learn to trust in times of doubt
Over the past few years, we have experienced moments of great happiness, pride and excitement, as well as disappointments and worries. Entrepreneurial life has often confirmed our choice to launch our business in the midst of a pandemic, but it has also brought its share of doubt. An emotional roller coaster, which you learn to tame and relativize over time. The mentorship we received was very beneficial, helping us gain perspective at the right time.
4. Stay focused on the KALŪ mission
In wanting to grow and acquire more notoriety, we had to make significant efforts in order to remain faithful to the mission of KALŪ. By weighing the pros and cons of each decision, to ensure that we remain faithful to our desire to offer a real eco-friendly alternative to our customers.
3. Choose partners to grow
Finding partners and employees who share our values and our vision for the company has not been and still is not an easy thing, and this has been the case since the beginning of the adventure. On the other hand, as our plans for the future become clearer, we are able to reach the right people. We really saw this when we started getting calls from retailers wanting to offer our products in-store. We saw how naturally these meetings happened, because we had common goals and values.
2. Create a community
It may not have been an initial wish, but we quickly realized that in creating a product that met our needs and our values, we were able to reach customers who looked like us and create a community. What an honor to communicate with people who are excited to choose our products, recommend them and represent us.
1. Sharing our values
KALŪ is also a way for us to make a difference and include our children in a family project. It is also an opportunity for us to create an organization in our image and to transmit our values to our customers, partners and employees.
So here we are, two years later. It is with these learnings and a lot of recognition that we begin our third year.
We thank you for being here, sincerely.
Happy birthday KALŪ and also, happy birthday (or almost) Calou, who was our valentine for many years.
